– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened – ½ cup powdered sugar – 1½ cups all-purpose flour – ¼ cup cornstarch – 1 tsp vanilla extract – Pinch of salt
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking while baking.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until the mixture becomes light, smooth, and fluffy in texture.
Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to the butter mixture, and mix well to evenly combine all the ingredients for better flavor.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and cornstarch to remove lumps, then gradually add it to the butter mixture while stirring slowly.
Keep mixing until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, chill it in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to make it easier to handle.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork or the bottom of a glass.
Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet before moving to a wire rack. Enjoy the buttery goodness!
