Fruit Cake
– 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed) – 2 medium apples (peeled, diced) – 2 tbsp sugar – 1 tsp cinnamon – 1 tbsp flour – 1 egg (beaten)
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Prepare your puff pastry by cutting it into 4 equal squares.
In a bowl, mix diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Stir until apples are evenly coated and the mixture looks slightly thickened.
Spoon apple filling onto the center of each pastry square, leaving edges clear. Fold squares diagonally to form triangles and press edges with a fork.
Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish. Optionally, sprinkle a little sugar on top for extra sweetness and crunch.
Place turnovers on the baking sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up nicely. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
Serve warm as-is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. These are perfect for dessert, snacks, or even a cozy breakfast treat!
