– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 1 cup sugar – 2 eggs – 2 tsp vanilla extract – 1/2 cup milk – 1 3/4 tsp baking powder – 1/4 tsp salt
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with paper liners to keep the cupcakes from sticking and make cleanup easier.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until the mix is light and fluffy. This helps create a soft cupcake texture.
Add the eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mix, beating well after each. Then stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt to evenly mix the dry ingredients before combining with the wet ones.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until everything is just combined—don’t overmix.
Spoon the batter into cupcake liners until they're 2/3 full. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before frosting.
