Fruit Cake
– 1 lb pizza dough – 1/2 cup marinara sauce – 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella – 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni – 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage – 1/4 cup grated Parmesan – 1 tsp Italian seasoning – 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash) – Flour (for dusting)
Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly flour your surface and roll the dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick for even baking and rolling.
Spread marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Add mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning evenly.
Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam and ends closed to seal in the filling and prevent leaks.
Transfer Stromboli to a baking sheet lined with parchment. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish and make a few slits to vent steam.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. Let it rest for 5 minutes so the cheese sets before slicing it helps with clean, gooey cuts.
Serve warm with extra marinara on the side for dipping. Great for a party snack, dinner, or leftovers the next day if there are any left!
